Texas Family Birth & Wellness is the first CNM-owned freestanding birth center in Collin County, north of Hwy 380. Founded by Kristen Parks, APRN-CNM, TFBW bridges the gap between home birth and hospital birth — giving families a safe, intimate, evidence-based alternative.

Here, you're not a chart number. You're a family we walk alongside from your first prenatal visit to your final postpartum appointment — with the same midwife, every time.

Common Questions

Everything you want to know

Yes. Birth centers are designed for low-risk pregnancies and staffed by certified nurse-midwives trained to identify and manage complications. We have transfer relationships with four hospitals within 10 minutes — three for mom and one children's hospital for baby. Kristen also holds privileges at Methodist Celina Medical Center so you still receive midwifery care in the case of a transfer.
At this time we are working to become in-network with several insurance companies. In the meantime, we are happy to provide a superbill for all care received so you can submit to your insurance provider. Depending on your plan, you may be reimbursed for some of those costs.
Our all-inclusive birth package is $7,500 and covers all prenatal visits, labs, ultrasounds, lactation support, a birth assistant, labor and birth, and all postpartum visits. Problem visits are included at no extra charge — we never nickel-and-dime families.
Kristen Parks, APRN-CNM will be your midwife for every prenatal visit and will attend your birth. Also, a medically trained birth assistant will be at your birth to help make sure your baby transitions well from inside your womb to your arms. You will know her well before your due date — and she will know you.
In most cases, transfers are done in a shared decision-making manner. Our goal is always to identify the need early and move proactively. In the few and rare occasions where unforeseen emergencies arise, Kristen is trained to identify the deviation from normal and act with calmness and clarity. This allows the best opportunity to receive hospital and physician support to keep you and baby safe.
